Granting Permission

Articles Published Within the Last Two Years:
An exclusive license for the full use of the copyright to all UCLA Law Review articles is held by the Regents of the University of California for one year from the article's publication date or two years from the date of the agreement between the author and the Regents, whichever is shorter.

After requesting permission, the requestor receives a copy of the UCLA Law Review's Republication Agreement. Upon return receipt of the agreement signed by the requestor, the Assistant Dean signs the agreement and returns it to the requestor.

Articles More Than Two Years Old:
Articles published over two years ago require that the author be contacted directly for republication permission. If the requestor is unsure as to whether permission is needed from the UCLA Law Review, please contact the Business Manager.
