Republication Permissions

Articles Published Within the Last Year

An exclusive license for the full use of the copyright to all UCLA Law Review articles is held by the Regents of the University of California for one year from the article's publication date or two years from the date of the agreement between the author and the Regents, whichever is shorter.

Republication requests for articles published within the last year should be directed to UCLA Law Review's Business Manager:

Business Manager, UCLA Law Review
UCLA School of Law
405 Hilgard Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90095-1476
Phone: (310) 825-4929
Fax: (310) 825-6365
Email: lrbsm@lawnet.ucla.edu

Include in your request:

  • Author's name, title, year, volume number and page number of the article;
  • Name and address of the requester;
  • Description of the nature of use of the article.

There is no fee for republication. The processing of republication agreements takes from two to four weeks.

Articles More Than a Year Old

Articles published more than a year ago require that the author be contacted directly for republication permission. If you are unsure as to whether permission is needed from the UCLA Law Review, please contact the Business Manager.
