    I thought it worth mention to you that in 1979, Sacramento Superior Court Judge Joseph Babich ordered Ken Cory, then the State Controller, to stop the pay of the California Supreme Court, for violating the 90-day rule. However, that only lasted a few months, then the 3DCA issued a writ of supersedeas, and the issue lay dormant for another decade. I had been planning a short article for the Cal Supreme Court Hist Soc newsletter, but I guess your exchange with Justice Liu frees me from dwelling on this factoid.
